Full job description

As an Immigration Solicitor and Team Leader, you will be responsible for acting as the primary point of contact for clients regarding UK immigration law as well as a supervisor fir the Immigration Team. You will provide advice to private individuals and businesses regarding immigration and asylum law, and for businesses specificaly regarding the sponsor licence and the skilled worker visa category.

You will keep yourself up to date with changes to the UK immigration rules, guidance and legislation.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Managing a Team of Immigration Caseworkers
  • Serving as the main point of contact for clients, offering expert advice on UK immigration law and legal options face-to-face and remotely via video call.
  • Work closely with other members of the team and with members from other offices to manage the caseworking and marketing activities including compliance issues and first stage complaints from clients.
  • Provide guidance to organisations on the Skilled Worker visa category and act as a Level 1 User on the Sponsor Management System.
  • Provide advice to private clients regarding immigration queries, including but not limited to: Appendix FM, Entry Clearance, Naturalisation, Citizenship, Global Talent, Tier 1 Extensions, self sponsorship visa options, chilren dependents on point based system migrants etc.
  • Manage daily client enquiries via email, phone or via video calls.

Amongst others, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in UK immigration practice.
  • Ideally, prior experience working at the level of a head of department in a private practice.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of recent changes in the UK immigration law.
  • Proven track record in providing advice on Asylum, Protection and Human Rights law/Skilled Worker/Student visa categories as well as family migration.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, as you will work alogside the Head of Immigration to act as the main point of contact for all client enquiries.
