Male Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Burton-on-Trent

Pay: £12.71 per hour

About the Role

Gray Healthcare is recruiting a Male Mental Health Support Worker to support an individual living independently in his own home in Burton-on-Trent. He receives a combination of 1:1 and 2:1 support, 24 hours a day, from a consistent male support team working across day shifts.

This role focuses on supporting emotional wellbeing, independence, and meaningful engagement. The individual enjoys exploring the community, visiting different locations, and listening to music.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting independent living and daily routines
  • Promoting structure and meaningful activity
  • Following person-centred support plans
  • Using calm and least restrictive approaches
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing
  • Building a consistent and positive relationship

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in mental health support
  • Experience supporting behaviours of distress
  • Strong communication skills
  • Calm and resilient approach
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Commitment to person-centred care

Desirable:

  • Full automatic driving licence

Working Hours

  • 36-hour contract
  • 3 x 8-hour day shifts (12pm–8pm)
  • May be required to work 8:00am to 8:00pm shifts
