About Us

The Wingate Centre has been associated with Gymnastics for over 35 years with a long history of recreational gymnastics and trampolining. We want our gymnasts to have fun participating in classes, enjoy making new friends and learning new skills as well as working towards awards and participating in competitions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join our friendly and fun team to deliver gymnastics classes and play a key role in expanding our club activity. Currently up to 6 hours per week over weekday evenings Mon - Wed there is an opportunity to expand the club to other evenings and Saturdays with the right person taking the lead. Ideally you will have, or be working towards, a level 2 qualification.

- Develop and implement recreational gymnastics training programs for gymnasts of all ages and skill levels
- Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques and form for various gymnastics disciplines.
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to help gymnasts improve their skills and reach their full potential
- Plan and organize practice sessions, including warm-up exercises and skill-building activities

-Maintain accurate registers for all sessions
- Ensure the safety of athletes by enforcing proper spotting techniques and maintaining a clean and hazard-free training environment and notifying the Welfare Officer of any incidents or concerns
- Prepare athletes for competitions by helping them refine routines, improve performance, and develop mental focus
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff members
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and guardians to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and answer questions

- Actively promote the club and the work of the Wingate Centre where possible

- Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques, rules, and safety guidelines
- Ability to effectively teach and demonstrate gymnastics skills to gymnasts of different ages and skill levels
- Excellent communication skills to provide clear instructions and feedback to athletes
- Patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate athletes to achieve their goals
- Strong organizational skills to plan practices, track progress, and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work well in a team environment with other coaches and staff members
