Key purpose of this role
Enable the Trust to realise its mission to ‘Transform lives, strengthen communities and make the world a better place’ by leading on delivery of a sustainable strategy for community use including sport, lettings and other facility use.
The role will maximise the impact of Trust facilities beyond the school day, creating inclusive opportunities for participation, wellbeing and community connection, whilst building strong partnerships with local clubs, organisations and community groups. Through effective management and growth of community use, the role will ensure that every school is a welcoming hub that supports healthier, stronger and more connected communities.
Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of Fusion School Services’ Community Use Strategy, working collaboratively with the Fusion Finance Director, and lead its delivery.
- Champion best practice and proactively lead continuous improvement of operational systems, processes, staff training, health and safety and overall customer experience.
- Support the wider Community Use provision across the Trust, working collaboratively with local teams to maximise opportunities for the communities they serve.
- Proactively maximise income generation and utilisation of facilities across existing sites and identify, evaluate and propose opportunities to deliver services to additional Trust schools, non-Trust schools and external community facilities.
- Identify and develop new opportunities within existing sites to expand community provision and increase opportunit
- Develop and deliver a multi-channel marketing plan that drives income generation, strengthens Fusion’s Community Use profile, and attracts new customers.
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with National Governing Bodies, local authorities, health services, and voluntary-sector organisations.
- Work collaboratively with Heads of PE, curriculum leaders, school leadership teams and Trust leaders to ensure the Community Use provision supports curriculum priorities, strengthens the Trust’s wider community strategy and maximises impact for pupils and local communities.
- Identify and secure external funding opportunities, including sports grants and partnership funding.
- Develop and present capital investment proposals that enhance facilities, expand community use and deliver long-term educational and community benefits.
- Monitor and report on utilisation, participation, income generation and community impact, using data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Line management of Business Manager

- To oversee the management of the lettings and the additional school usage service provision Fusion School Services Ltd, a subsidiary of the Tedwragg Trust.
- Be responsible for managing the various lettings across the Trust and external schools.
- Develop the service within the individual schools, seek opportunities to increase lettings opportunities, promoting the service and implement efficient systems and practices.
- Develop community partnerships to access the facilities and work closely with the schools.
- Develop and implement a lettings strategy to grow the business.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Sport, Marketing, Management or other relevant field.
Experiance
Proven experience of leading leisure organisations with a community focus
Demonstrable success in securing and managing external funding streams.
Key Skills
Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills across multiple audiences.
Strategic planning, project-management and evaluation expertise.
Ability to translate strategic vision into deliverable, measurable outcomes.
Financial acumen and understanding of funding and governance.
Able to fulfil all aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
