Program & Operations Lead

About Us

Grassroots Sports Academy Yorkshire is a community-driven organisation delivering high-quality sport, education and well-being programs across Barnsley. We work with schools, families, local authorities and community partners to create inclusive opportunities for all.

We’re entering an exciting phase of growth — and we’re looking for someone ready to step up into a leadership role and help us shape what comes next.

This is not just another coaching role!

This is a career progression opportunity for an ambitious coach, PE graduate or SEND worker who is ready to take on more responsibility, lead programs, and develop into a senior role within a growing organisation.

You will play a key role in:

  • Leading delivery across multiple programmes
  • Supporting staff and coaches
  • Managing day-to-day operations
  • Helping grow and improve what we offer

Key Responsibilities-1. Programme Delivery & Leadership

  • Lead and oversee high-quality sports delivery across schools and community settings
  • Maintain strong session standards aligned with safeguarding and coaching best practice
  • Support and mentor coaching staff

2. Operations & Organisation

  • Coordinate staffing, rotas and bookings
  • Support planning and delivery of events, camps and projects
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day running of programmes

3. Development & Growth

  • Build relationships with schools and partners
  • Support new programme ideas and community engagement
  • Contribute to funding, reporting and impact tracking (supported by leadership)

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant coaching or sport qualification (Level 2+ preferred)
  • Experience delivering sport or physical activity
