Your Next Challenge could be with Olympic Gymnasium Services!

Do you have excellent customer service skills, are good at problem-solving and repairing items, take pride in your work and enjoy variety and challenge?

If so you could join our team and develop a varied and exciting career with us as a Field Service Engineer!

What do we do?

Olympic Gymnasium Services carry out safety inspections, maintenance, repairs, refurbishment and installation of sports, PE and playground equipment for schools and colleges and for PT equipment at MoD bases. We carry out a wide range of services at different locations so every day is different. We are a small team and are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills, a “can-do” attitude who is good at problem-solving and repairing items, who takes pride in their work and enjoys variety and challenge.

Why work with us?

We are a small company committed to excellent customer service and high quality work. We value our team and you will join our close knit team with a friendly and flexible approach to work. We offer a competitive salary, company pension, company vehicle, opportunities for overtime, 28 days holiday including statutory holidays and company closure between Christmas and New Year.

About the role:

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be on the front line of our operations, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining sports/PE/playground/assault course equipment to the highest safety standards, working at schools, colleges and military bases.

Most of our work is around London and Home Counties and some near our service base in Manchester. You need to be flexible as some days are longer and some shorter with travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites to inspect, maintain, install and repair equipment
  • Complete inspection reports on tablet via Microsoft Excel, source parts and provide quotes
  • Work with colleagues to obtain parts and equipment to complete projects efficiently
  • Liaise with customers to deliver optimal solutions
  • Ensure equipment meets standards and Health and Safety regulations
  • Ensure vehicle stocks and tools are maintained

You will be required to stay away on occasional weekdays to minimise travel eg when working around Manchester, and work very occasional weekends during busy periods in school holidays and half terms.

The Ideal Candidate:

You will have:

  • Practical experience in maintenance, fitting, or installation roles
  • Experience with equipment inspections and reporting
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and the ability to work at heights
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify repair options rather than replacement where possible
  • A “can do” attitude
  • A clean, valid driving license and DBS check
  • PASMA certification is advantageous but not required
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship

You must be authorised to work in the UK. No agencies please.
