Food Production Operative – £13.00 per hour – Full-Time

Location: The Original Biltong Company, Chesham. Must live locally

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About The Original Biltong Company

The Original Biltong Company is a specialist in producing high-quality dried beef products. We are dedicated to maintaining exceptional standards in product quality, innovation, and food safety. Due to continued growth, we are looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our production team.

As a Food Production Operative, you will play an integral role in our manufacturing process, ensuring efficiency, compliance with safety regulations, and adherence to strict hygiene standards.

Minimum Requirements (Please read before applying)

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience in Food Production: Prior experience working in a food manufacturing or processing environment. Candidates with experience operating industrial food machinery, particularly automated pouch packaging machines, will be given preference.
  • Teamwork: Having the ability to work as part of a team is a must.
  • Following instructions: Candidates must have the ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently, ensuring all tasks are completed to the required standards while adhering to company procedures and safety regulations.
  • Comfort Handling Raw Meat: The role involves working with raw beef products daily.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 25kg regularly and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Transport and location: Due to the location of our facility, having reliable personal transport is must or live within walking distance from the facility.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety & Hygiene: Understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the production, handling, and packaging of food products.
  • Operate specialised industrial food production machinery, including automated pouch packaging machines.
  • Ensure that all products meet strict quality control and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene protocols, and company policies at all times.
  • Carry out routine cleaning and sanitisation of equipment and work areas to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with additional tasks and support production demands as required.
