Full job description

Flexible bank (zero hour) contracts available around a variety of areas such as Kelso, Galashiels, Selkirk, Tweedbank, Earlston and Gattonside. Pick up hours as and when required!

Our Support Workers play a pivotal role in day-to-day life, working as part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, choice and inclusion. You will assist with daily living skills and accessing the community, to supporting social activities and planning trips. We are always looking for caring, passionate individuals who want a rewarding career in social care and who share our values of respect, dignity and inclusion.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a caring, compassionate and reliable individuals with good communication and teamwork skills. Somebody who is positive with a patient and person-centred approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support in line with individual support plans
  • Promote independence, dignity and respect at all times
  • Support with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and budgeting
  • Assist individuals to access the community and social activities
  • Maintain accurate daily records and documentation
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures

Additional Information

Due to the nature of the role, there may be exposure to challenging behaviour, manual handling tasks, medication administration and passive smoke environments. Appropriate training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure staff can carry out their duties safely and confidently.

Successful candidates will be subject to a PVG disclosure check and also be required to work towards their SVQ Level 3 in Social care as this is a government requirement.
