Restaurant Manager

Salary: £37,500 per year + Performance-Based Bonus
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Bristol

About Us

We are an established and growing multi-site restaurant group, operating a number of restaurants across the UK.

As our business continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and ambitious Restaurant Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of one of our restaurants.

This is not simply a shift-management position. We are looking for someone who can take genuine ownership of a restaurant, build and lead a strong team, deliver an exceptional guest experience and drive commercial performance.

We are a growing multi-site restaurant group with ambitious plans for further expansion and new concepts. For a high-performing Manager who can deliver strong results, this role has the potential to become much more than managing a single restaurant.

As the group grows, there will be opportunities to progress into more senior management positions, become involved in multi-site operations and new openings, and take on wider responsibilities across the business.

We are not simply looking for a Restaurant Manager — we are looking for someone with the potential to grow with the group and become a key member of our future management team.

Key Responsibilities

As Restaurant Manager, you will take responsibility for the overall operation and performance of the restaurant, including:

  • Take full ownership of the day-to-day operation and performance of the restaurant
  • Lead, motivate and develop the front-of-house team
  • Recruit, train and retain high-performing team members
  • Manage rotas, staffing levels and labour costs effectively
  • Maintain consistently high standards of service and hospitality
  • Create a welcoming and memorable guest experience that encourages repeat business
  • Handle customer feedback, complaints and difficult situations confidently and professionally
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Monitor sales, labour costs, stock, wastage and other key operational KPIs
  • Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
  • Drive sales, average spend and overall restaurant profitability
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and commercial performance
  • Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, health & safety and compliance
  • Develop a strong, accountable and motivated restaurant team
  • Support local marketing, promotions and customer engagement
  • Take ownership of operational problems and implement effective solutions
  • Work closely with senior management to achieve business objectives and support the continued growth of the group

What We Are Looking For

Previous Restaurant Manager or General Manager experience within a full-service restaurant is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Strong and proven restaurant management experience
  • Experience managing the day-to-day operation of a full-service restaurant
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Fluent spoken English and excellent communication skills
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and service standards
  • Commercial awareness, including experience with P&L, labour costs, stock control, sales and restaurant performance
  • Strong customer service and guest relationship skills
  • Confidence in handling complaints and difficult situations
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions during busy services
  • A hands-on management style and willingness to lead from the floor
  • A proactive, organised and results-driven approach
  • A genuine understanding of hospitality and how to create an experience that makes customers want to return

Experience within Asian restaurants or multi-site restaurant groups would be an advantage.

Conversational Chinese would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Additional Skills — Advantageous

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Social media management
  • Instagram / TikTok content creation
  • Restaurant marketing and promotions
  • Online reputation and customer review management
  • Menu development
  • Local partnerships and business collaborations
  • New restaurant openings
  • Multi-site operations

We are particularly interested in Managers who understand that modern restaurant management is not only about running a smooth service, but also about building the restaurant's reputation, growing its customer base, developing the team and improving commercial performance.

Salary & Performance Bonus

£37,500 per year

Plus Performance-Based Bonus

Performance bonuses will be linked to agreed restaurant KPIs and individual performance, which may include:

  • Sales growth and restaurant performance
  • Profitability and cost control
  • Labour management
  • Customer satisfaction and reviews
  • Operational standards
  • Team performance and development

Strong performance will be recognised and rewarded.

For the right person, this position offers the opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing restaurant group, take on greater responsibility and potentially progress into more senior or multi-site management roles as the business expands.
