Job Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Front of House Manager at The Waterfront, a busy independent pub situated at Barton Marina, one of Staffordshire’s leading leisure destinations.

As Front of House Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of The Waterfront. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for exceptional customer service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant and hospitality environments.

This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. The successful applicant will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise front-of-house staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
  • Oversee food preparation and serving processes to maintain quality standards
  • Manage reservations, guest enquiries, and seating arrangements to optimise customer experience
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the establishment
  • Lead team management efforts by training, mentoring, and motivating staff to deliver excellent service
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food production and delivery
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently to uphold the establishment’s reputation
  • Monitor cleanliness and organisation within the front of house areas
  • Assist in organising special events or promotions to enhance guest satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production
  • Background in hospitality management or hotel experience is advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Previous experience as a barista or in bar service is considered beneficial
  • A professional attitude complemented by excellent communication skills

Above all, we are looking for someone who can deliver exceptional levels of hospitality and service to the Waterfront guests.

  • 45 hour per week contract
  • Starting salary £35,000 (dependant on experience)
  • Staff food on shift
  • Option of 4 or 5 days per week
