The IP Team's strategic expansion and increased demand from clients has created new opportunities across the practice for an ambitious Senior Trade Mark Paralegal seeking to grow their career and make an impact.
We are seeking a candidate who can help develop and manage a team of Trade Mark Paralegals.

We also specialise in global trade mark monitoring, conducting searches, clearing new trade marks, and handling the filing and prosecution of trade mark applications both within the UK and internationally. Additionally, our team adeptly navigates third party trade mark disputes, including oppositions and cancellation actions, and oversees the renewal and other maintenance tasks of trade mark registrations, ensuring our clients' assets are protected and leveraged effectively.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
We seek candidates with a proven track record in handling trade mark portfolios of varying sizes across diverse industries, with expertise in filing and prosecuting trade marks.
The role is ideal for Senior Trade Mark Paralegals who are well-versed in all facets of the management of global trade mark portfolios. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Management of team of paralegals, including overseeing allocation of work
- Providing technical guidance and training to junior team members
- Assist with workflow and process improvement
- Proficiency in online research and familiarity with online trade mark search databases.
- Drafting and overseeing both domestic and international trade mark applications.
- Analysing and responding to official communications from, for example, trade mark offices, and advising clients accordingly, including the management of billing.
- Handling the renewal and ongoing maintenance of trademarks.
- Real prospects for growth and career progression as you take on market-leading national work supported by a strong team of subject matter experts.
- Continuous self-development is valued, and you will be encouraged to engage with formal training programmes (whether technical or skills based) and to draw on mentoring, coaching and leadership development programmes available to you.
For this position, the successful candidate will need:
- You must be CITMA qualified and have worked as a Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in IP/Trade Marks law.
- Previous experience supervising or coordinating work of other paralegals or support staff (formal line management experience highly desirable).
- Experience gained either in a private practice or an in-house setting.
- A commitment to fostering a high-performance culture through clear goal-setting, open feedback, and a focus on development and recognition.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to demystify legal jargon for non-legal professionals in a clear, concise manner via phone and digital platforms.
- Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A proactive approach to tasks with a willingness to take the initiative to ensure project completion.
- An organised, detail-focused mindset, ensuring accuracy and consistency in work.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
You will manage a team of paralegals, overseeing work allocation, providing technical guidance and training, and driving workflow and process improvements. You will handle filing and prosecution, online research and database searching, draft and oversee domestic and international applications, respond to official communications and manage billing, renewals and portfolio maintenance.

YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
You will be CITMA qualified with at least 5 years' IP/trade mark experience, ideally including supervision or coordination of others, in private practice or in-house. You will bring strong communication skills, high levels of organisation and attention to detail, the ability to manage high-volume, complex workloads, and confidence with Microsoft Office. A proactive, collaborative mindset and commitment to a high-performance culture are essential.
