Full job description

The Role

We are looking for a methodical and reliable Storesperson to take charge of our stockroom operations. This isn't just a warehouse role; we need someone who takes pride in stock accuracy and ensures that our internal system (Unleashed) matches exactly what is on the shelves.

You will be the point of contact for all Goods In, ensuring deliveries are checked and put away correctly, while managing the efficient picking and packing of orders for daily courier collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Goods In: Receive all incoming deliveries, checking items against delivery notes and reporting any damages or shortages immediately.
  • Stock Control: Maintain an organised stores area and conduct regular cycle counts and full stocktakes to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Order Picking: Accurately pick and pack customer orders, ensuring they are securely prepped for dispatch.
  • System Management: Use our stock system (Unleashed) to log all movements, arrivals, and outgoing shipments.
  • Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to move pallets and organise high-level racking.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free environment in line with UK COSHH and manual handling guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous Stores Experience: You should have a solid background in a stores or stockroom environment (rather than just general picking/packing).
  • Attention to Detail: You’re the type of person who notices when a part number is one digit off.
  • IT Literacy: Comfortable using computers or handheld scanners. Experience with Unleashed or similar stock software is a distinct advantage.
  • Physical Fitness: You must be comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting (up to 25kg).
  • Forklift Licence: A current Counterbalance or Reach truck licence is preferred, though we may provide refresher training for the right candidate.

Why Work With Us?

Why Join the Bay-Lynx Team?

  • A Family-Owned Culture: We aren't a massive, faceless corporation. We are a family-run business that values every member of the team. You’ll work in a supportive, friendly environment where your contribution is genuinely recognised.
  • Specialist Environment: Forget moving the same plastic widgets all day. You’ll be handling high-quality engineering components for world-class construction machinery.
  • Work-Life Balance: We value our team’s time. Unlike many warehouse roles, we offer stable, sociable hours without the "7-day-a-week" grind of retail distribution.
  • Career Stability: With over 15 years of heritage and a growing presence across the UK, we offer a secure long-term career with the chance to grow alongside us.
  • Training & Development: Whether it’s a forklift refresher or mastering our Unleashed stock system, we invest in our people to ensure you have the tools to succeed.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • On-site parking

Work Location: In person
