Job Summary

Rowtype Printers Limited is an established commercial printing company based in Stoke-on-Trent. We are looking for reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals to join our busy production team.

The role involves operating print finishing machinery, packing printed products, preparing pallets for despatch and assisting with general production duties.

Previous printing experience would be an advantage but is not essential. We are equally interested in applicants who have a practical approach, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided.

Both full-time and part-time positions will be considered, with working arrangements to be discussed depending on availability.

Key Responsibilities

Operating and assisting with a range of print finishing equipment, including:

• Folding machines
• Guillotines
• Heidelberg ST450 stitching line
• Heidelberg Cylinder machines
• Horizon booklet makers
• Laminating machines
• Other general print finishing and bindery equipment

Other duties will include:

• Setting up and operating machinery efficiently and safely.
• Ensuring jobs are completed to a high standard and within production deadlines.
• Carrying out routine quality checks.
• Packing and preparing finished printed products for despatch.
• Stacking, wrapping and securing pallets for collection and delivery.
• Assisting with general production and warehouse duties.
• Operating a forklift truck, where appropriately trained and authorised, if applicable to the role.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Working as part of a team to ensure an efficient production workflow.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in commercial printing, print finishing or manufacturing would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Experience operating Heidelberg Cylinder machines or other print finishing equipment would be advantageous.
• A forklift truck licence would be desirable but is not essential. Applicants interested in undertaking forklift training would also be welcomed, although this is not a requirement of the role.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn new skills.
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
• Reliability, good timekeeping and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks across the production department.
• Ability to carry out physical duties involving packing, handling printed materials and preparing pallets.

No previous printing experience is necessary for the right candidate. We welcome applications from both experienced machine operators and individuals looking to develop new skills within the printing industry.
