Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to lead and build our team and oversee daily operations at our bustling fruit farm shop, and café. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your organisational talents and leadership qualities in a vibrant environment. The Café Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service, managing staff, and ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the café’s operations. Kitchen experience would be advantageous to cover chefs holidays while maintaining a leadership role throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the café team, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
  • Manage sales targets and implement strategies to maximise revenue and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate merchandising efforts to ensure attractive product displays and stock organisation
  • Maintain excellent communication with staff and customers, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
  • Organise staff rotas, optimise labour costs, and ensure adequate coverage during peak times
  • Handle administrative tasks such as stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining records
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective leadership and motivation
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and resolve any issues promptly

Requirements

  • Proven management experience within retail or hospitality settings, preferably in a café environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail and time management abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal rapport-building
  • Experience in sales management, merchandising, and administrative tasks is advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under pressure
  • Organised approach with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
  • Extensive background in food reparation, cooking and kitchen operations would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production
  • Own transport and driving license essential due to rural location
