Our role within The Concrete Centre at the Association is a great opportunity for a Chartered Engineer (ICE/IStructE) to be part of our collaborative team delivering guidance on design of safe and sustainable concrete structures. You will be responsible for developing and delivering guidance, including publications, worked examples, design tools, training courses and webinars, on Eurocode 2 second-generation.

You will be supported by our expert team within our leading UK Trade Association and The Concrete Centre itself, and this role provides an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the second-generation Eurocodes as well as related codes and standards, sustainability, and innovation within the concrete and masonry sector. The role will provide opportunities to get involved with national standards committees, work with industry and interact with academia, both teaching and research.

A few key Role overview points:

• To provide expert technical support and advice to specifiers on concrete construction in Structural Engineering for The Concrete Centre.
• To assist in the use of concrete and masonry concepts in buildings by producing technical design guides, software programs, promotional brochures and technical brochures; by lecturing at seminars, lectures and at exhibitions; by preparing press or technical articles, etc.
• To develop and maintain contacts with construction industry supply chain members in these sectors and to use personal knowledge and experience of the use of concrete and masonry in construction to put the case for concrete and masonry and favourably influence the choice of concrete construction products.

What are we looking for in you?

• A Chartered Engineer, and an active participant in IStructE/ICE.
• Have career experience of design and construction with concrete and other materials in the UK construction industry within a commercial environment
• Be able to prepare and confidently deliver technical presentations to large audiences of construction industry professionals, plus represent the concrete sector on national and international committees.

PLEASE NOTE: The role is located at our London Head Office for The Concrete Centre and the Association as shown - we are prepared to consider hybrid working options (please state in your application) and on occasion this person will be required to work from alternative locations.

Pay: £48,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
