About us

The Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) combines the strengths of UCL’s basic biological and preclinical sciences, some of its constituent research departments have long and distinguished histories that can be traced back to the early nineteenth century when UCL was founded and there are 11 Nobel Laureates associated with Life Sciences. The Faculty continues to build on existing strengths in cell and developmental biology, computational biology, evolutionary and population genetics, cellular and circuits neuroscience, and structural and molecular biology.

The School of Pharmacy has a proud record of teaching innovation and is able to attract high quality students at both undergraduate (MPharm) and postgraduate (taught Masters level) as well as hosting a thriving postgraduate researcher and postdoctoral early career researcher population. In addition, staff are encouraged to engage with professional and scientific organisations at leadership level and we consider ourselves to be important contributors to the pharmaceutical and scientific community. About the role

The purpose of this job is to support teaching and learning in the School of Pharmacy, working with the academic modules leads and technicians through the delivery of practical laboratory classes, coursework marking and exams invigilating.
Teaching Assistants will be given training in support of their roles.

PGTAs are expected to be able to commit be present on the Bloomsbury campus during the terms for which teaching is allocated and during the examination period as required.

About you

You must be educated to Masters degree level (or having equivalent experience), in a life sciences related field

You must be a current PhD student studying a life sciences subject.

The ability to work independently for short periods and as part of a team, recognising when advice / input needs to be sought and an enthusiasm for teaching is essential.
