About the Role

As a Student Veterinary Nurse in our busy hospital, you’ll gain hands-on experience across medicine, surgery, and emergency care, all within a well-equipped clinical environment.

Our facilities include:

  • Endoscopy & arthroscopy

  • X-ray & ultrasound

  • MRI and CT imaging

  • Multi-parameter monitors

  • In-house laboratory & blood machines

  • Dedicated oxygen kennels


You’ll be supported by experienced RVNs, clinical coaches and vets who are committed to helping you succeed in your training and build confidence in your practical and clinical decision-making skills.


This role is ideal for a 2nd or 3rd year SVN looking for exposure to advanced cases in a structured, supportive learning environment.

Rota & Salary

  • 1 weekend in every 3 weeks (with time back in lieu)

  • Salary: £25,494.48 per annum + 6%

  • Full support towards your training and development

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting inpatient care and patient monitoring

  • Assisting in surgeries and procedures

  • Supporting nurse-led appointments

  • Completing your studies with the support of an experienced clinical coach

  • Working collaboratively within a large hospital team

You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, take initiative as your skills grow, and fully engage with your training and Nursing Progress Log.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Student Veterinary Nurse who:

  • Is enrolled with an approved veterinary nursing college

  • Is passionate about patient care and clinical excellence

  • Works well within a team

  • Is organised and committed to their studies

Your Application Must Include:

  • The college you attend

  • Your current year of study

  • Confirmation of exam completion (where applicable)

  • Your college attendance percentage

  • Your NPL (Nursing Progress Log) percentage

  • Whether you have entered Gateway
