Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Summer Cook to join our Kids Holiday Camp team.

You will be required to be onsite at:

10th Aug - 23rd August

Monday - Thursday each week

2pm - 6pm

This role involves sourcing all food ingredients and preparing nutritious and appealing meals for children participating in our summer programme. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, experience working in a kitchen environment, and a commitment to food safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fun and engaging camp environment while showcasing culinary skills.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals suitable for children, ensuring nutritional balance and visual appeal
  • Assist with menu planning and meal presentation in accordance with dietary requirements and camp guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
  • Ensure all food is stored correctly and inventory levels are monitored for replenishment needs
  • Serve meals to children in a friendly and efficient manner, fostering a positive dining experience
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times during food preparation and service
  • Support the overall organisation of meal times, including setting up dining areas if required

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a childcare, school, or camp setting
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment, including meal preparation and serving
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children, staff, and other team members
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
