Barista – Modern Residential Care Home

  • Salary: £29,000 per year
  • Full Time - 5 Days Per Week
  • Mainly Monday to Friday - Occasional Sundays
  • Shift Times: 8.30am to 4.30pm

We are looking for a confident, friendly and customer-focused Barista to take ownership of the café at a modern residential care home in North London.

This is much more than a traditional barista role. You will be at the heart of the home, creating a welcoming café experience for our residents, families, visitors and staff.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring it is well presented, well stocked and provides an excellent experience for everyone who visits.

You will become a familiar and friendly face within the home, building relationships with residents and their families while delivering professional café and hospitality service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea and other hot and cold drinks.
  • Providing friendly and professional customer service.
  • Running the café independently and managing the daily service.
  • Preparing light refreshments, snacks and simple food.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
  • Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when required.
  • Operating the till and handling payments.
  • Keeping the café clean, organised and inviting throughout the day.
  • Creating a relaxed and sociable atmosphere for residents and visitors.
  • Supporting family visits, events and special occasions.
  • Building positive relationships with residents, relatives and visitors.
  • Following food hygiene, health and safety and company procedures.

What We Are Looking For:

We want someone who brings energy, personality and professionalism to the role.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Barista, Café Assistant, Hospitality Assistant or similar.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience preparing quality coffee and beverages.
  • A friendly, warm and approachable personality.
  • Confidence working independently and taking ownership of the café.
  • The ability to build genuine relationships with elderly residents and their families.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.

You will not simply be serving coffee. You will be creating a social hub within a modern care home, where residents can enjoy their favourite drink, families can spend quality time together and visitors receive a warm welcome.
