Full job description

This role would require travel across out 3 hospitals in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd – Mileage would be paid at HMRC rate of 45p a mile outside of your normal place of work.

This is an exciting post working to support our Medical Staff Team and other professionals in their role. The successful candidate will provide an efficient secretarial service and administrative support to the team across various hospitals.

Responsibilities:

  • Recording and preparing minutes of meetings including MDT, CPA, CTP and Professional meetings.
  • Audio typing of various reports, letters etc.
  • Liaising with a wide variety of professionals, agencies and members of staff both internal and external to the group.
  • Management of relevant patient files; ensuring information is accurate and up-to date.
  • Maintaining and coordinating diaries, arranging meetings and travel arrangements.
  • Manage a varied and demanding workload and determine priorities relevant to the smooth running of the post.
  • This is, by nature, a varied role which requires a level of versatility and flexibility, as well as the ability to multi-task and priorities a heavy work load, within a busy and demanding environment.
  • You will be a highly organised and positive individual and be able to demonstrate the relevant skills and experience.
  • The successful candidate will have RSA III typing/OCR Text processing level 3 or equivalent, excellent computer skills, in particular in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and will be able to use internal databases. You will be an excellent communicator both written and verbal at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a medical secretary.
  • Audio transcription skills or 2 years experience of audio transcription within a secretarial background.
  • A good standard of basic education with regard to numeracy and literacy.
