ESOS Lead Assessor Salary – Up to £75,000 per annum dependent on experience

Location: Southern Region

We are seeking a skilled ESOS Lead Assessor to deliver high-quality energy and carbon assessments in line with ISO50002 standards, supporting ESOS compliance and wider sustainability reporting requirements. The role involves working directly with customers to deliver detailed site assessments, produce technical reports and identify practical opportunities for energy, carbon, and cost reduction.

You will act as a key customer contact throughout the assessment process, ensuring high standards of delivery, data accuracy and timely reporting, while supporting commercial opportunities through insight-led recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

· Completes site visits to ISO50002 standard, enabling ESOS compliant reporting.

· Manages own diary to ensure efficient delivery of customer surveys and associated reports in line with building size, including setting up and delivering quarterly meetings and reports where applicable.

· Produces customer-facing reports by collating and analysing data from multiple sources including site visits, previous reports, and customer datasets, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales. Escalates data gaps through appropriate customer service routes.

· Ensures all expenditure is accurately tracked and allocated per customer.

· Delivers ESOS, SECR and PPN outputs through data analysis, including intensity ratios, extrapolation modelling, and action planning.

· Attends customer-specific meetings for ESOS / SECR / PPN discussions and supports strategic tender responses.

· Maintains accurate and up-to-date records within CRM systems.

· Identifies upselling opportunities during site visits and generates leads for Business Development Manager through recommendation outputs aligned to the existing service offering.

· Acts as the primary customer contact throughout the assessment process.

· Identifies energy, carbon and cost-saving opportunities and develops practical, actionable recommendations for customers.

· Maintains up-to-date knowledge of ESOS, SECR, PPN and relevant legislation and guidance.

· Supports continuous improvement of assessment methodologies, tools, and reporting processes.

· Maintains relevant professional accreditation and ongoing CPD requirements.

· Supports ISO14001 accreditation project work across the business.

· Contributes innovation ideas to the Business Development Director for future services and product development.

What We’re Looking For

· Experience delivering energy assessments, ESOS compliance or similar sustainability/energy consultancy work

· ESOS Lead Assessor qualification

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate energy and building data

· Confident communicator with experience engaging directly with customers

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple site visits and deadlines

· Knowledge of ESOS, SECR, PPN frameworks and relevant energy legislation

· Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency

· Competence in CRM systems and report writing

· Experience of Display Energy Certificates & Energy Performance Certificates, auditing and reporting is advantageous.
