Full job description

About the Role

This is a hands-on and varied role supporting the full estate planning client journey, with a strong focus on drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

We're looking for someone who already has practical experience preparing Wills or other estate planning documentation and wants to develop their career within a modern, growing estate planning business.

A significant part of your role will involve reviewing client instructions, identifying anything that requires clarification, and accurately translating those instructions into estate planning documents. You'll also manage amendments, client files and case progression through to completion.

You'll work closely with our advisers, administration and operations teams to make sure client matters progress accurately and efficiently.

We operate in a CRM-led environment, so you'll need to be highly organised, comfortable working digitally and confident managing multiple client matters at different stages.

This is not a graduate or entry-level position and is not a route to qualification as a solicitor. If your primary career goal is to complete a training contract, obtain SQE qualifying work experience or become a qualified solicitor, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.

What You'll Do

  • Draft and prepare estate planning documentation, including Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Review client instructions, identifying missing information, inconsistencies or matters requiring clarification before drafting
  • Manage amendments and progress documentation through to client approval and completion
  • Review documentation for accuracy and consistency before it is issued
  • Manage client matters throughout the full journey from instruction through to completion
  • Maintain accurate client records, documents, case notes and progress within Zoho CRM
  • Handle client queries and communicate with advisers, clients and professional third parties
  • Support completion and post-completion administration where required
  • Take ownership of your workload, prioritise effectively and ensure matters continue progressing
  • Work closely with the wider administration and operations teams

Who We're Looking For

You must have previous practical experience drafting Wills for clients within a professional environment. This may have been gained within a solicitor's office, Wills & Probate or Private Client department, Will-writing firm, estate planning business or similar professional setting. Previous experience preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney would also be advantageous.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous practical experience drafting Wills for clients
  • Has experience working within Wills & Probate, Private Client or estate planning
  • Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work
  • Is comfortable reviewing detailed client instructions and identifying information that needs clarification
  • Can manage multiple client matters and prioritise their own workload
  • Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Is comfortable using CRM systems and learning new technology
  • Can follow structured processes while using their own judgement and initiative
  • Is adaptable and comfortable working within a growing business where systems and processes continue to evolve

We're particularly interested in people who have developed practical experience within estate planning and now want to deepen that knowledge and build a long-term career in the sector.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
