Building Surveyor
Location: Ealing
Full Time-
Salary up to £47,000 per annum, plus,
40 hours per week (8-5 Monday -Friday)
Pyramid Plus South, a joint venture partnership between A2Dominion and Mears Property Services, provides repairs and maintenance, compliance, planned replacements and fire risk assessment works. We successfully complete over 35,000 repairs, 1,000 voids and fit 600 kitchens and bathrooms annually to 23,500 homes. With a wide range of upcoming projects, there are exciting times ahead as we continue to grow!
Part of a team supporting Surveyor activities and requirements of the Pyramids operations, ensuring all surveying procedures are being undertaken efficiently, in compliance with Company operating procedures and delivering best in class customer service, satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards.
  • Carry out surveys in homes to ascertain requirements for works, including repairs, maintenance, planned / programmed, ensuring compliancy with contractual commitments, service standards, and statutory regulations, highlighting where variations are required and providing estimates, measurements, costing & budget information associated for works identified.
  • Manage all designated budgets and resources in accordance with the priorities of the business and in line with financial and procurement protocols to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service which provides value for money against national and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and client to ensure clear communication with service users.
  • Contribute to the commercial growth of the business with identification of cutting-edge solutions to business challenges and opportunities in support of the continued development of services in line with industry best practice.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to H&S regulations, Mears standard operating procedures & values, quality assurance accreditations, and the company’s commitment to best practice with legislation and codes of good working practices relevant to all work activities.
  • Ensure the customer experience is central to all activities by adopting a professional manner when communicating with all stakeholders, this includes but not limited to, appearance, company ID, maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Follow and support policies, procedures, initiatives and work instructions at all times and keep all supplied company assets in a good condition in line with company policies, reporting to your Manager where damages occur.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the company, which may include participation in call out escalation cover or back up to other building surveyors to cover any absences, and attend informal and formal company & client meetings and training sessions as required.
Role Criteria:
Essential Qualifications
  • HNC/HND in construction / building services.
  • IOSH or other H&S qualification.
Essential Experience
  • Proven track record in building surveying.
  • Proven track record of working in a customer focused environment.
  • Experience of project management.
Essential Skills & knowledge
  • Knowledge of construction methods.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety and other statutory/regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of CDM requirements.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of SOR’s.
  • Ability to prepare reports.
  • Proven Skills & Knowledge in the following:
  • Interpersonal and communication;
  • People management with ability to lead & mentor others;
  • Strong customer focus;
  • Problem solving & results orientated;
  • Planning and organisational;
  • Decisive decision making;
  • Ability to negotiate and influence;
  • IT literate with confident oral and written communication skills.
