Full job description

The role

The University is seeking an experienced leisure professional to join us a Swimming Pool Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the University of Bristol’s Swimming Pool. As part of the role the Swimming Pool Supervisor will lead a shift team of Lifeguards to ensure the efficient, effective and safe utilisation of the Swimming Pool and deliver an excellent customer experience for students, staff and external customers.

What will you be doing?

You will work a fixed shift pattern and be responsible for lifeguarding, supervising customers, and ensuring the facility operates safely and efficiently.
You will play a key role in delivering an excellent customer experience and maintaining high standards of service at all times.

You should apply if

You have excellent customer service and communication skills, with a genuine passion for supporting members in achieving their goals.

You will have at least two years' experience working in a leisure environment, ideally with wet-side operations experience.

Additional qualifications or experience in swim teaching and trainer/assessor roles would be advantageous.

You should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to both teamwork and a proactive work ethic, helping to deliver an outstanding experience for students, staff, and community users while ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Contract type: Open ended

Work pattern: 2 positions available

Post 1 = Part time, 23 hours

Tuesday: 12:30 – 19:00 (6 hours)
Wednesday 12:00 – 18:30 (6 hours)
Thursday 13:00 – 18:00 (5 hours)
Friday 5:30 – 14:00 (8 hours)

Post 2 = Full time, 35 hours

Tuesday - 6:45 - 15:45 (9 hours)
Wednesday 6:45 - 15:45 (9 hours)
Thursday 13:45 - 22:45 (9 hours)
Saturday 7:45 - 15:45 (8 hours)

Grade: F

Salary: £29,354 - £32,722 pro rata per annum
