Overview

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Senior AV Commissioning Engineer to join our Technical Team based at our Hertford or Stockport office with regular travel to customer sites across the UK.

The role is responsible for the configuration, programming, testing and commissioning of complex audiovisual, digital signage, control, networking and LED systems. Working across a wide range of high-profile customer environments, the Commissioning Engineer will help ensure systems are fully tested, correctly configured and ready for reliable operation before handover.

This is a varied, hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of AV systems, control platforms and networked technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with Solutions Architects, Project Managers, installation engineers, support teams and technology partners throughout the project lifecycle.

The role will suit someone who is technically curious, comfortable working across multiple technologies and capable of diagnosing and resolving system issues both in the workshop and on customer sites.

Duties

  • Configure, test and commission audiovisual, digital signage and control systems.
  • Verify signal paths, control functionality, network connectivity and overall system performance.
  • Carry out structured testing, fault finding and system validation.
  • Support final customer demonstrations, acceptance testing and project handover.
  • Basic configuration / programming of control platforms including Q-SYS and Crestron.
  • Build and update user interfaces for touch panels, operator controls and customer-facing applications.
  • Test control sequences, functions and third-party integrations.
  • Diagnose and resolve programming, communication and control-system faults.
  • Develop reusable code, templates and standardised configurations where appropriate.
  • Set up video distribution, switching, signal extension and display systems.
  • Configure products and platforms including Q-SYS, Crestron and Blustream.
  • Configure network switches, routers and associated infrastructure used within AV and digital signage systems.
  • Diagnose network-related faults affecting AV, control, digital signage and monitoring systems.
  • Support the configuration and commissioning of indoor and outdoor LED display systems.
  • Build, wire, configure and commission communications and AV equipment racks
  • Assist with the development of new technical solutions and proof-of-concept systems.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues raised by the Support Team
  • Produce and maintain commissioning records, configuration files and test documentation
