About Tailfin

Tailfin makes technical, beautifully engineered bikepacking equipment for riders who take their adventures seriously.

Over the past 10 years, we've grown from a small workshop into a major brand competing with some of the biggest names in the category.

Our strength lies in our products, brand and content, and we communicate with a worldwide customer base through warm, approachable and highly considered creative.

We're now looking for a Mid-Weight Artworker to help bring that brand to life across every customer touchpoint.

Based in Bristol, we're a close-knit team of 29 passionate about cycling, bikepacking and outdoor adventure.

The Opportunity

This is a production-focused creative role within our marketing team, responsible for translating creative direction and brand guidelines into finished, accurate, and consistently high-quality assets.

You'll work closely with our Head of Design, Graphic Designer, CRM Manager and Studio Photographer, helping to remove a key production bottleneck and increase the volume and quality of creative we can deliver.

A major part of the role will be:

  • Designing and building more of our marketing emails and flows
  • Editing and retouching product and campaign photography, particularly around product launches
  • Creating and adapting web assets
  • Ensuring our brand is presented consistently and at a high level across every channel

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys the craft of clean, accurate and considered production work, and who wants to develop their skills within a fast-moving, ambitious premium brand.

What You'll Do

Artworking & Production

  • Turn creative concepts, briefs and brand guidelines into polished, production-ready assets
  • Adapt campaign creative across social, paid media, email, web and occasional print/event applications
  • Produce web assets including banners, landing pages and product-page graphics
  • Resize and adapt existing creative while maintaining visual consistency and quality
  • Ensure all work adheres closely to Tailfin's brand guidelines and flag inconsistencies when you spot them

Photography

  • Edit and retouch product and campaign photography, particularly for product launches
  • Work closely with our Studio Photographer to select, prepare and refine imagery
  • Review large image sets and identify the strongest selects for use across campaigns
  • Ensure imagery meets the quality and positioning expected of a premium technical brand

Email & CRM

  • Work with our CRM Manager to design and build email campaigns and flows in Klaviyo
  • Translate creative briefs into effective, on-brand email designs
  • Learn and develop your understanding of email marketing tools and production processes

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Confident and accurate photo retouching skills – this is essential
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot when something isn't quite right
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography and image selection
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines precisely and maintain consistency across multiple channels
  • Ability to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously without compromising quality
  • A strong production mindset – you enjoy getting the details right and delivering polished final assets
  • A portfolio demonstrating clean, accurate and high-quality production work
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new tools, particularly Klaviyo, if you haven't used it before
  • Based in Bristol or willing to relocate
  • Able to work a minimum of 3 days per week in our Bristol office (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

We'll judge talent and portfolio more than years of experience, so don't be put off if you don't have a traditional career path or a specific number of years under your belt.

Highly Desirable

  • A few years' experience in a similar artworking, artwork production or design production role
  • Experience working with a premium, technical or considered product brand
  • Experience in outdoor, cycling, sports, lifestyle or ecommerce/DTC brands
  • Genuine interest in cycling, bikepacking or outdoor adventure
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines
  • Experience with Figma
  • Familiarity with Klaviyo or another email service provider (ESP)
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for email
  • Understanding of premium brand positioning and how to communicate quality without relying on discounting

The Team & Working Environment

You'll join our 9-person marketing team (as part of a wider team of 29) and work closely with experienced designers, photographers and CRM specialists.

Expect:

  • Autonomy and ownership
  • A fast-moving environment
  • High standards and attention to detail
  • Collaboration with experienced creative specialists
  • Plenty of opportunities to learn and develop
  • The chance to have a genuine impact as Tailfin continues to grow
