Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Back to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will support bartenders and bar staff by ensuring the bar area remains well-stocked, clean, and organised. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a lively environment, providing excellent service to our guests while gaining valuable experience within the hospitality sector. Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or hotel environments is highly desirable, along with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties

  • Assist bartenders by replenishing stock of spirits, mixers, garnishes, and glassware throughout the shift
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces and sanitising equipment
  • Prepare basic food items or garnishes as required for drink presentation
  • Support with setting up and breaking down the bar at opening and closing times
  • Ensure all supplies are stored safely and correctly in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Respond promptly to requests from bartenders or customers for additional supplies or assistance
  • Help with general cleaning duties within the bar and surrounding areas to uphold hygiene standards
  • Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation to minimise waste

Skills

  • Proven experience in hospitality settings such as restaurants, bars, hotels, or cafés
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and bar operations is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and guests
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards within a hospitality environment
  • Organisation skills to manage stock levels and maintain a tidy workspace
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills such as bartending or specialised food prep tasks
  • Previous experience as a barista or serving staff is beneficial but not essential
