We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and flexible Assistant Chef to join our friendly café team!

The main part of the role will be working in the kitchen, preparing and producing a fresh, tasty menu of light bites, snacks and café-style food. However, this is a varied, hands-on role, so you’ll also need to be happy helping out in other areas of the café when required.

What the role involves

· Preparing and cooking a light, snack-style café menu.

· Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.

· Helping with food preparation, stock rotation and keeping the kitchen clean and organised.

· Assisting with barista duties and making coffees and other hot drinks.

· Running food to customers and helping ensure a smooth service.

· Must be available to cover bar work in the evenings on an as-and-when basis.

· Working as part of a team to provide excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate

· Has experience in a kitchen or catering environment.

· Has a positive attitude and a good work ethic.

· Is flexible and willing to help wherever needed.

· Can work well under pressure during busy service periods.

· Takes pride in producing good-quality food and maintaining high standards.

· Is a good team player with a friendly approach to customers and colleagues.

· Would have C&G 9087-12 or equivalent.

This is not a kitchen-only position. Although the main responsibility will be food preparation and cooking, flexibility is essential, as you may also be required to work on the barista station, run food or undertake bar duties when needed.

What we offer

· £13.21 per hour.

· 22.5 hours per week (overtime when needed for bars)
