Full job description
Apprentice Teaching Assistant
We have a brand new vacancy available for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice supporting pupils either in Early Years or Key Stage 2. If you have bundles of energy, a passion for supporting young people, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, be flexible in your approach to work, be keen to learn from others around you and confidence to be part of the school as a whole.
Due to the rural location you will need to consider transport options or be a driver to access this school reliably. It is essential that you have a good level of maths and English, minimum of 4/C grades.
General Duties Include
- Supporting pupils within whole class teaching
- Keeping accurate records of student progress and participation
- Supporting with the additional care needs that a student may require
- Supporting students at break and lunch times
- Attending staff meetings as requested
- Planning differentiated work for individual students
- Leading small group learning activities
- Maintaining the health, safety and security of our students
Training & Qualification Details
This apprenticeship is expected to last around 14 - 17 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will be via Zoom) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the programme.
Entry requirements
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this programme, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the programme.
