Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Mountain Ash, Rhondda Cynon Taf
Salary: £92.59 per day minimum
Employment Type & Hours: Temporary, Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)

About the Role
We are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils within the Foundation Phase in a Primary school in Mountain Ash. You will work closely with the class teacher to help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where children feel supported and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Mountain Ash, your daily tasks will focus on supporting learning and classroom routines, including:

  • Providing general classroom support across the Foundation Phase
  • Working in partnership with the class teacher to support learning activities
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups to promote engagement and progress
  • Helping to maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:

  • Qualifications: Relevant childcare/education qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Driving Licence: Not required
  • Experience: Experience supporting children in a classroom or childcare setting (paid or voluntary)

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting learners in the Foundation Phase / early years
  • Additional training in learning support, behaviour support or ALN/SEND
