Primary Teacher (Salary will represent experience from if you're unqualified to experienced and wanting to take on additional responsibilities in your career).

As our primary teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.

We are invested in managing workload and ensuring you get home on time each night, with time to focus on you at weekends and holidays. We invest in curriculum schemes of work and systems in order to support this. We offer double PPA each week which you can take at home (equating to a 4 day working week).

Teachers at The Place Independent School are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate pupils. You will be confident in directing and utilising support staff to create a fun and effective learning environment for our pupils.

The ideal candidate will successfully set a vision and targets for pupil success and be confident in using their knowledge and expertise to monitor progress, give regular feedback and encourage our young people to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.

About the School

The Place Independent School is a truly unique provision set within the stunning estate of Belvoir Castle. Situated across two sites, the school caters for pupils with a variety of needs including social, emotional and mental health needs and Autistic Spectrum Condition. We also have a high percentage of looked after and adopted children and we are specialists in working with children with attachment difficulties. The school is currently registered to work with an age range of 5–18 and has a capacity of 80.

What makes us different is the way we interact with our pupils and how we deliver our curriculum. Working on high staff ratios, pupils receive truly bespoke educational experiences, tailored to their individual needs. We also utilise our farm and woodland settings as a tool for engagement and to reignite our pupils love for learning. Through doing this, we remove barriers, develop self-esteem and provide children with the opportunity to achieve accreditation in a wide array of academic and vocational subjects. Qualifications range from Entry Level – GCSE.

We believe that no young person should be failed as a direct result of their past experiences and complex histories, and we are committed to helping them overcome adversity and provide a positive influence upon their current and future lives.
