Heath Court Hotel is a privately owned hotel located in the heart of Newmarket, Suffolk. With 42 comfortable bedrooms, a stylish bar and restaurant, and versatile meeting and event spaces, we are committed to delivering first-class hospitality and memorable experiences for all our guests.

Summary

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Food & Beverage Assistant to join our team. In this varied role, you will support the day-to-day operation of our restaurant, bar and function facilities, delivering excellent customer service and ensuring every guest enjoys a positive experience.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over, as the position involves regular bar work and the service of alcohol.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, five days out of seven, covering a variety of early, mid and late shifts. The role includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar and function service, together with regular evening and weekend working, so flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a welcoming and attentive service to all guests.
  • Assist with food and beverage service in the restaurant, bar and at events.
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as part of regular bar duties.
  • Maintain clean, organised and inviting dining and service areas.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and licensing requirements at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
  • Previous hospitality or food service experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a passion for providing great service.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic bartending skills would be an advantage.
