This role falls under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)

We are looking for Self Employed FTTH (Fibre to the Home) Engineers to work in the East Midlands & Lincolnshire region on the Openreach network. You will be handling the full Fibre installation and maintenance of telecom services, work on both Overhead and Underground PIA networks, delivering end-to-end solutions including connecting the end user to the network.

You will have your up to date SMART awards or NOPS card.

What’s involved

  • Network Build-outs: Install new telecom services by running overhead lines on utility poles, subducting protective ducts underground, and using compressed air to “blow” new fibre optic lines through them—all involving hands-on, physical work.
  • Customer installations: Visit our customers’ homes or businesses to set up internal cabling and make sure their new services are working perfectly.
  • Network Maintenance: Work with live network infrastructure—cabinets, ducts, and poles—clearing minor blockages and completing minor network extensions as needed.
  • Quality & Safety: Follow strict safety procedures, and ensure all equipment is safe to use. You’ll also help restore sites, leaving every location clean and safe for our customers.
  • Reporting & Admin: Use our systems to record your work and keep information up to date in a timely manner.

Payments under CIS:
Tax will be deducted from your pay before you receive it, and the contractor will pay this directly to HMRC on your behalf.
