Are you a Telecoms Design Engineer who is ready to deliver on upgrading your career?

We have the need for 2 Design professionals to join our client immediately.

The role is home-working with occasional client meetings.

Salary- Up to £55k for Design Engineer position plus bonus

The Design Engineer is responsible for the production of high quality Bid and Design solutions in accordance to customer requirements and specifications. You will work closely with the customer and accounting teams, refining the requirements, providing guidance and assist with strategy, resulting in solutions that are deliverable, operational and commercially sound.

Responsibilities

· Capture and interpret customer requirements

· Acting as key sign off for technical artefacts

· Leverage and influence, show resolve under pressure from customers and internal stakeholders

· Build a “trusted advisor” relationship with customers

· Assist deployment and operation of customer networks

· Quality assurance in the design and implementation process

Skills and Experience Required

  • At least 5 years' experience in dealing with SME or larger customers in a technical, solution design or consultancy role
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with a clear can-do mentality
  • Sound understanding of best practice in design methodology, Telco business processes and frameworks (eTOM or ITIL) used to deliver complex solutions
  • Good understanding of concepts of High Level Design, Low Level Design
  • Experienced in the Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software such as Visio and Autocad

Technical Knowledge

  • IP Network including good understanding of components of a Layer 2 & Layer 3 network, design of WAN, LAN and services
  • SDH/PDH technology and design of low latency sub-rate services including V & X data, Voice Frequency and Optical Teleprotection (IEEE C37.94)
  • Fibre systems including fibre characteristics, electrical utility fibre deployment, ground deploy and 3rd party fibre

Telecoms installation in electrical substation environment

  • Design of DC power supply and battery systems
  • Microwave radio (eg SIAE Electronica ALC+, AGS20)
  • Copper xDSL products including services via BT WBMC and SHDSL over copper “pilot” cables
  • Synchronisation networks (PRC, SSU, SEC, frequency, NTP and PTP)
  • Satellite services – E.g. BGAN and T-SAT services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
