Join Lily - The Home of Digital Transformation

We're Lily, a multi-award-winning Managed Service Provider delivering cutting-edge IT and communications solutions to businesses across the UK. We help customers modernise their technology, improve efficiency and get more value from their communications and IT infrastructure.

Our culture is built on Passion, Performance, Inspiration and Integrity. If you enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, taking ownership and delivering a great customer experience, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Telecoms Field Engineer with strong practical networking experience who wants to take the next step in their technical career.

You’ll already be confident working with business telephony, hosted VoIP, SIP, IP networking, managed switches, VLANs, business Wi-Fi and connectivity. Modern hosted communications solutions rely heavily on underlying network infrastructure, so you’ll need to be able to understand, troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues as part of delivering and supporting telecoms solutions.

You'll work independently in the field, supported by our Solution Delivery and Service teams, taking ownership of installations, fault-finding and customer handovers.

We’ll then build on that foundation and develop your skills across wider IT services, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online.

We’re not looking for a fully developed IT engineer. We’re looking for an experienced Telecoms engineer with strong networking skills and the technical ability and ambition to develop into broader IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

· Installing, configuring and supporting hosted and on-premises telephone systems.

· Working with platforms including Gamma Horizon, Webex for Gamma and iPECS Cloud.

· Configure users, handsets, DDIs, call routing, hunt groups and associated telephony features.

· Complete moves, adds and changes across hosted and on-premises telephone platforms.

· Diagnose and resolve SIP, VoIP, handset and call-quality faults remotely and on-site.

· Install and configure managed switches, VLANs, PoE and network patching.

· Install and support business Wi-Fi solutions, including UniFi and Ruckus products.

· Carry out wireless and infrastructure site surveys before installation.

· Install, terminate, test, label and fault-find Cat5e and Cat6 structured cabling.

· Install and tidy network cabinets, patch panels and associated equipment.

· Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP and general internet connectivity issues.

· Deliver clear customer training and professional handovers following installations.

· Maintain accurate engineering notes, asset information, test results and site documentation.

· Identify and escalate technical risks, scope changes and unresolved technical issues promptly.

· Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve customer service and internal processes

About You:

You’ll be practical, technically minded and confident fault-finding when things don’t go to plan. Just as importantly, you’ll be interested in technology beyond traditional telecoms and genuinely want to develop your knowledge across wider IT services.

We’re particularly interested in someone who takes pride in the quality of their installations, communicates well with customers and wants to keep learning.

Must already have:

· Proven experience within a telecoms, communications or similar field engineering role

· Hands-on experience installing and supporting hosted VoIP, unified communications or on-premises telephone systems.

· Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and how network performance impacts hosted voice and communications services.

· Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting managed switches, VLANs and business Wi-Fi solutions.

· Good working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN connectivity and network fault-finding.

· Experience with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, termination, patching, testing and fault-finding.

· Excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills

· Ability to manage your own workload and work safely on customer sites

· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer locations

Experience We’d Particularly Value:

· Gamma Horizon,

· Webex for Gamma

· iPECS Cloud

· iPECS UCP or comparable on-premises PBX

· Ubiquiti UniFi

· Ruckus wireless

Your Development:

This role provides a clear opportunity to broaden your technical career beyond telecoms and networking. We’ll build on your existing experience through training, mentoring and practical exposure to wider IT services, including:

· Microsoft 365

· Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory

· SharePoint Online

· Exchange Online

· Windows devices and endpoint support

· Wider IT infrastructure and MSP services

Ready for Your Next Step?

If you’re an experienced Telecoms Engineer with strong networking skills and you’re ready to broaden your career into IT services, we’d love to hear from you.

Bring your telecoms and networking experience. We’ll help you build what comes next.
