About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Wireless Communications & Electronics Engineer with a strong background in Telecommunications, Networking, and Wireless Communication to lead the development of robust remote-control solutions for our robotic platform. This role requires expertise in RC control, WiFi, LoRa, and other wireless protocols to ensure seamless operation in real-world conditions.

Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a Mechatronics background, with solid experience in electronics design and PCB development to create custom hardware solutions for our platform.

This position requires a hands-on problem solver with strong expertise in wireless communication protocols, embedded electronics, and PCB design. If you thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoy pushing the boundaries of wireless and embedded systems, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Wireless Communications & Networking

· Design and implement robust wireless communication systems (WiFi, LoRa, Bluetooth, 4G/5G, or other RF technologies) for real-time remote control and telemetry.

· Develop and optimize low-latency networking solutions for robotic control, including RC control integration.

· Ensure wireless solutions work in challenging environments, mitigating interference and range limitations.

Electronics & PCB Design

· Design, prototype, and validate custom PCBs for wireless communication, sensor integration, and control systems.

· Select and integrate RF modules, antennas, CAN Bus, and signal-processing components for optimized performance.

· Design power-efficient embedded systems and interfaces for seamless integration with microcontrollers and sensors.

· Manage PCB manufacturing processes, component sourcing, and testing procedures.

Mechatronics & System Integration:

· Work closely with robotics engineers and embedded developers to ensure smooth integration of communication hardware with motion and control systems.

· Support hardware troubleshooting, testing, and validation in lab and field conditions.

· Optimize power consumption and reliability of communication systems in real-world scenarios.

Project Collaboration & Leadership:

· Take ownership of wireless communication architecture and electronics development for the robotic platform.

· Work cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and embedded teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.

· Stay updated on emerging wireless technologies and industry trends to enhance platform capabilities.

· Develop documentation, schematics, and test reports for hardware and networking solutions.

· Provide mentorship to junior engineers and assist in debugging communication and hardware issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Wireless Communications & Networking:

· Strong knowledge of WiFi, LoRa, Zigbee, Bluetooth, 4G/5G, and RF communication protocols.

· Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, WebSockets, and other networking stacks.

· Hands-on experience configuring routers, antennas, and RF components for long-range communication.

· Familiarity with signal processing, spectrum analysis, and RF debugging tools.

Electronics & PCB Design:

· Expertise in PCB design (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar) for RF and embedded systems.

· Strong understanding of high-speed PCB layout, EMI/EMC considerations, and impedance matching.

· Experience with microcontroller-based designs (ARM, STM32, ESP32, PIC, SAMD).

· Understanding of power electronics, battery management, and low-power design techniques.

Embedded Systems & Firmware (Bonus):

· Ability to write and debug low-level firmware (C/C++ for microcontrollers, RTOS experience is a plus).

· Experience with CAN Bus, SPI, I2C, UART communication protocols.

· Familiarity with robotics control systems and sensor integration.

Soft Skills

· Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to debugging complex systems.

· Ability to work independently and lead technical decisions in a fast-paced startup environment.

· Strong communication and documentation skills.
