About Stage Sound Services

Stage Sound Services is a Cardiff-based company working at the heart of the live events and entertainment industry. We provide professional audio, lighting, staging, and technical production services to theatres, festivals, corporate events, touring productions, and major live shows across the UK.

The Role

This is a hands-on technical role focused on the diagnosis, repair, testing, and maintenance of LED video wall panels and associated display systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fine electronic repair, including surface mount soldering, PCB fault finding, and pin/trace repair, with a practical, solution-focused attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment. You will play a key part in ensuring our LED stock is maintained to the highest standard and ready for deployment on demanding live productions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults on LED wall panels and associated components
  • Identify dead pixels, colour inconsistencies, scan issues, data faults, power faults, and physical damage
  • Carry out component-level repairs, including: Surface mount soldering, Removal and replacement of damaged ICs, PCB trace repair
  • Test repaired panels and modules to ensure they meet operational and visual quality standards
  • Repair and replace damaged LEDs, masks, magnets, connectors, frames, and other panel hardware where required
  • Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and refurbishment of LED wall inventory
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, faults found, parts used, and time spent
  • Liaise with the wider video, warehouse, and project teams to prioritise urgent repairs around show deadlines

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience repairing LED video wall panels or similar electronic display systems
  • Strong practical skills in surface mount soldering and fine electronic repair
  • Good standard of education, including English and Maths, or equivalent experience demonstrating required literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and independently, taking ownership of tasks
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Competent IT skills, with the ability to use systems relevant to the role
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, even when working under pressure
  • Consistently able to meet deadlines, including during peak and busy periods
  • Demonstrate a positive, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience of working in an entertainment/industry relevant related field
  • Familiarity with common LED wall manufacturers
  • PAT testing
