Join our R&D Laboratory Services team in Slough to deliver vital mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein production, and bioreactor operations that directly enable the development of innovative, life-saving biopharmaceuticals on a 12-month contract.
This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.
What you will get:
-
An agile career and dynamic working culture.
-
An inclusive and ethical workplace.
-
Competitive hourly rate.
The hourly rate for this position in the United Kingdom is expected to range between £17.00 and £20.00. Initial salary placement within this range will be determined based on role‑related factors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.
What you will do:
-
Conduct routine upstream bioprocess experiments strictly following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
-
Perform daily aseptic CHO mammalian cell culture passaging, media preparation, and cell viability tracking.
-
Set up, inoculate, sample, and monitor bench-scale automated bioreactor runs (ambr15, ambr250) for recombinant protein production.
-
Record, analyze, and document experimental data accurately using MS Office and digital laboratory tools.
-
Maintain laboratory equipment, assist with instrument calibrations, and manage technical reagent and consumable inventory.
-
Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members across R&D and Manufacturing pipelines.
-
Adhere strictly to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards and site Health & Safety guidelines.
What we are looking for:
-
Direct hands-on experience with CHO mammalian cell culture maintenance and aseptic handling techniques.
-
Demonstrated experience working with recombinant proteins or monoclonal antibodies in a laboratory environment.
-
Practical operational experience with bench-scale bioreactors (such as ambr15, ambr250, or similar bioreactor platforms).
-
Proven ability to perform experimental workflows to GLP standards and follow SOPs accurately.
-
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and scientific data logging.
-
Background in a Biotech, Pharma, or CDMO environment is highly desirable.
-
Proactive work ethic with strong collaborative and multi-tasking abilities.
