Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team to work Monday evenings from 6pm -8pm.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive experience for each individual. Your expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology will support precise specimen collection, contributing to accurate diagnoses and patient care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic medical environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes and laboratory success.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws using proper phlebotomy techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique during specimen collection to prevent contamination or infection
  • Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to all protocols
  • Follow established safety guidelines, including basic life support protocols, to respond effectively in emergencies
  • Document all procedures meticulously in electronic health records

Qualifications

  • Proven proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques
  • Experience with aseptic technique and infection control practices
  • Laboratory experience including handling specimens and understanding lab workflows is advantageous
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required or desirable

Pay: £18.00 per hour
