Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join Avenham Surgery on a 12 month temporary fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave. Working 3 days per week Tuesday, Thursday + Friday 8am-6-30pm. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice and enhancing patient experience.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations.
  • Handle incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Process patient registrations and update demographic information as needed.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient flow and communication.
  • Ensure the reception area is organised, clean, and welcoming for patients.

Experience

  • Previous GP surgery experience is essential.
  • Administrative experience is highly desirable, showcasing strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and EMIS software is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • A compassionate approach to patient care is vital, alongside the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
