Job Title: Sonographer

Trust: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

Location: Queen's Medical Centre, Derby Rd, Lenton, Nottingham NG7 2UH

Pay Rates: £23.52 per hour (exc WTD)

Hours: Between Monday to Friday – 22.5 hours per week

The right candidate will commit to providing a high-quality ultrasound service, which comprises of completing unsupervised scanning sessions, which include inpatient and outpatient scans which offer variety of opportunities in routine and complex examinations.

What you can add:

· Perform high quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide a concise detailed report of the findings in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures.

· Explain procedures to patients in a manner that facilitates their full understanding of the examination and to ensure that informed consent is obtained.

· Effectively communicate the scan findings to the patient, having a caring attitude, display empathy and provide support, when needed.

· Effectively communicate scan findings to clinicians.

· Facilitate the referral of patients to other departments depending on scan results and advise on future patient management where appropriate.

· To triage patient workflow in the clinic in which they are working and to collaborate with colleagues to maximise departmental efficiency.

· To use computerised documentation in order to provide accurate imaging patient records and ensuring the requirements of the Data Protection Act are complied with.

What you’ll need:

· DCR(R) or BSc degree

· Participation in CPD

· Current state registration

· High level of clinical competence in a wide range of ultrasound techniques

· MSK, Gynae and Neck experience preferred.

· Excellent communication skills

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

· Relevant Qualifications

· Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
