Full job description

Position: Tesco Bank Finance PMO

Location: Glasgow

Duration: 6 months Temporary Contract

PAYE Only

Tesco Bank is part of Barclays. All contingent opportunities are managed by Randstad in partnership with Barclays.

Overall purpose of the role

You will be joining the PMO team for the internal project, which is an integration programme operating as a workstream within integrated credit risk. The core purpose of this role is to support project finances and resourcing, specifically responsible for managing how resources are reflected within Project & Portfolio Management system Navigator, which is the main tool used to manage and track the time of resources charged to the project.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the PMO lead and the broader team by managing the financial tracking of the programme
  • Reviewing project charges on a monthly basis to determine billing to the project, verifying, and conducting follow-ups on any discrepancies
  • Analyzing month-on-month variants to compare financial forecasts and focus areas against the actual figures that come through
  • Referencing the PPM system Navigator to ensure correct resource allocation, and identifying where individuals should be aligned if they are incorrectly assigned to the project

Key Skills

  • Project Finance Experience: Proven experience dealing with project finances, including a strong understanding of costs, forecasts, and monthly finance packs
  • System Knowledge: Experience using the PPM system Navigator, within Barclays is highly desired, along with a bonus for having handled project finances at Barclays. Exposure to similar project management tools such as Teamplayed or Kiplot will also be considered
  • Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including ability to create PIVOT tables and review data
  • Mindset & Approach: An inquisitive self-starter who is comfortable asking questions, understanding processes, and working outside their comfort zone.
  • Problem Solving: A logical thinker who can break down problems and figure out how to effectively embed themselves into existing processes.
