Job Title: Upholstery Fabric & Leather Curator

About the Role

Derry's Ltd are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Upholstery Fabric & Leather Curator to manage and develop our collection of premium upholstery fabrics, leathers, and related materials. The successful candidate will have a strong eye for design, excellent product knowledge, and a passion for materials that meet the highest standards of quality, durability, and style.

This role combines product selection and cutting -preparing fabrics and leathers for Sewing and Upholstery departments

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate and maintain a comprehensive collection of upholstery fabrics, leathers, and trims.
  • Research emerging interior design, furniture, and textile trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Assess products for quality, performance, sustainability, and commercial viability.
  • Manage sample libraries, swatch inventories, and product documentation.
  • Collaborate with design, sales, and production teams on material selection for projects.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement activities where required.
  • Maintain accurate product information, pricing, and supplier records.
  • Ensure all materials comply with relevant safety, environmental, and performance standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in upholstery fabrics, leather sourcing, interior design, furniture manufacturing, textile merchandising, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fabric construction, leather types, finishes, durability ratings, and performance characteristics.
  • Excellent aesthetic judgment and awareness of current design trends.
  • Ability to evaluate materials for both residential and commercial applications.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory or product management systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with luxury, bespoke, or high-end furniture products.
  • Understanding of fire-retardancy standards and upholstery performance testing.
