Want to join the team?

We’re looking for a confident, energetic bartender to join the team at Mango Above Bar, our independently owned Thai tapas restaurant and cocktail bar in Southampton city centre.

This role is best suited to someone who already has experience on a busy bar and feels comfortable working independently. You’ll often be the main person behind the bar, so you’ll need to be confident, quick, organised and able to keep calm when the cocktail orders start flying in.

You’ll mainly be working behind the bar, but we’re a small team, so you’ll also need to jump onto the floor when needed to run drinks, take drinks orders, and clear as you go, helping make sure our guests have a brilliant experience from start to finish.

The role includes:

  • Making cocktails, pouring drinks and serving customers at the bar
  • Working confidently on the bar, often on your own
  • Keeping up with busy Happy Hour service
  • Supporting the floor team when needed
  • Running drinks and food to tables
  • Keeping the bar clean, stocked and organised
  • Helping maintain a fun, professional and welcoming atmosphere
  • Delivering great customer service

You’ll need:

  • Previous experience working on a busy bar
  • Good cocktail, spirit and wine knowledge
  • Confidence working independently behind the bar
  • A warm, friendly and professional approach
  • The ability to work quickly and stay organised under pressure
  • Availability for Friday and Saturday doubles
  • Some midweek availability during busy periods

If you’re a student, you must also be available during non-term time, including summer, Christmas season and New Year’s Eve.
