Full job description

Following the success of our original site in Borough Market, Khao Bird opened on Brewer Street, Soho, bringing our Northern Thai BBQ and juicy cocktails to the West End.

A year on, we’re an established and busy restaurant in the heart of Soho, with a growing reputation and regular coverage in the press. We have been recognised by Michelin Guide & Time Out as one of their Top Thai Restaurants, and we’re continuing to build on the success of both Khao Bird and our sister restaurants in Brighton.

We are now looking for experienced senior chefs to join our kitchen team.

Khao Bird is part of a sustainable restaurant group with five sites. We are a certified B Corp and hold the highest rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association. We care about doing things properly — from the produce we use and how we operate, to how we look after and develop our people.

This is a great opportunity to join an established Soho restaurant at an exciting stage of its growth, working alongside a strong kitchen team and learning a distinctive style of Northern Thai cooking.

What you’ll do

* Work confidently in a busy, professional kitchen.
* Prepare and cook fresh produce to a consistently high standard.
* Execute dishes quickly and consistently during busy service.
* Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness and organisation.
* Work safely and efficiently throughout service and prep.
* Support the wider kitchen team and contribute to a positive working environment.
* Continue developing your cooking skills and knowledge.
* Work across our different sites where required.
* Take pride in the food you produce and contribute to the continued success of the restaurant.

What we offer

* Regularly changing free meals on shift.
* Eat-in discount for you and your friends and family.
* Flexible rotas planned two weeks in advance.
* Holiday pay.
* Company pension.
* A fun, energetic and supportive workplace.
* Full training and ongoing development.
* Opportunities to work across our different sites.
* Internal training across the group.
* Supplier visits and opportunities to learn about our producers.
* Company events, parties and trips.
* Uniform.
* Genuine opportunities for progression as the group continues to grow.

We strongly believe in developing our people from within. We want ambitious, passionate people to grow with us, and there are opportunities to take on more responsibility and progress within the group.

If you enjoy working with great produce, want to learn something different and thrive in a busy kitchen, we’d love to hear from you.

Please contact Luke in the first instance and send a brief cover letter and CV.
