Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team.

The role is a mixture of kitchen porter duties and food preparation, supporting the chefs and helping ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
  • Keeping the kitchen, preparation areas and storage areas clean and organised
  • Cleaning floors, surfaces and equipment throughout and at the end of shifts
  • Assisting chefs with basic food preparation
  • Preparing vegetables, ingredients, sauces and other items as required
  • Portioning and preparing ingredients ready for service
  • Helping with deliveries and correctly storing food and supplies
  • Keeping fridges, dry stores and workstations organised
  • Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
  • Emptying bins and correctly disposing of kitchen waste
  • Supporting the chefs during busy service periods
  • Completing opening and closing cleaning duties
  • Helping maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Good attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Good standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene
  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is helpful but not essential
  • Comfortable carrying out both cleaning and food preparation duties

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is willing to get involved in all areas of the kitchen and wants to develop their kitchen and food preparation experience.

Pay: £12.75-£18.89 per hour
