Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can learn, grow, and develop essential skills. Your enthusiasm for childcare and early education will inspire children to explore their world confidently while supporting their individual needs. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives through engaging activities, attentive care, and effective communication with families. Our nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to rigorous safer recruitment procedures, including satisfactory reference, verification of qualifications and employment history, identity and right to work checks, and an appropriate DBS check. Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in a safeguarding-focused interview. We reserve the right to undertake additional suitability checks where appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development.
  • Provide attentive supervision to ensure children's safety at all times within the nursery environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging independence and confidence through supportive interactions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming nursery space that adheres to health and safety standards.
  • Support colleagues in managing daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and outdoor play.
  • Contribute to the development of individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs and interests.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting.
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide children effectively and support team collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of childcare best practices, early childhood education principles, and health & safety regulations.
  • A genuine passion for childcare, patience, creativity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant certifications in childcare or early childhood education are essentia.
