Job Overview

Join the team at The Boathouse in Ayr and help deliver a welcoming, memorable experience for every guest. Whether serving in the restaurant, supporting the bar or helping with events, you’ll play an important role in creating a friendly atmosphere and ensuring guests enjoy their visit. You’ll work alongside a supportive team to keep service running smoothly in a relaxed hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly, answer questions and help create a positive first impression.
  • Take orders and serve food and drinks efficiently, with care and attention to detail.
  • Support the kitchen and bar to ensure guests receive a great experience.
  • Keep dining, bar and service areas clean, tidy and well presented.
  • Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures and maintain high standards throughout service.

Skills

  • A friendly, approachable manner and strong communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in hospitality and providing excellent customer service.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • Previous experience in the restaurant, bar or hospitality industry is beneficial but not essential.
  • Bartender or barista experience is an advantage.
  • An understanding of food hygiene and safety practices, or a willingness to learn and follow guidance.
  • A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues wherever needed.

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 25.0 per week
