Flexible Outreach Tutor:

We are looking for highly skilled, qualified Level 3 or above Teachers/Teaching Assistants who are passionate about enriching the educational experience for diverse learners. If you have a patient, creative approach and are adept at overcoming educational barriers, Chalkline invites you to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Delivery: Provide personalized support primarily in Maths and English to pupils aged 11-16, including those in care or with special educational needs. You will plan and conduct sessions that are adaptable, engaging, and fun, with autonomy over session content, supported by our educational team.
  • Session Format: Deliver in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions.
  • Location & Timing: Tutoring sessions align with school terms, occurring between 08:30 and 16:30. Sessions may be held at schools, pupils' homes, residential care facilities, or public venues like libraries.

Pupil Demographics:

  • Work with a variety of pupils, focusing on those who require additional support due to their circumstances or educational needs. Most pupils we support are aged 11-16.

Resources:

  • Access to a comprehensive suite of internal resources and printables, plus materials from platforms like Twinkl and BKSB. Support for rare online delivery requests via MS Teams or Bramble.

Hours & Compensation:

  • Pay per hour of tutoring delivered. Rates are competitive, with adjustments for travel available depending on the travel time/distance. Detailed arrangements for hours per assignment will be discussed in advance.

Administration:

  • Weekly submission of timesheets and detailed pupil reports via Google Drive, using a Chalkline-specific email address.

Example Assignment:

  • Coordinate with parents/carers/schools to schedule sessions.
  • Deliver structured tutoring in Maths/English from Monday to Thursday, 09:00 to 11:00, and provide weekly updates on pupil progress.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Teaching or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience.
  • Must possess a valid driving license.
  • Enhanced DBS check preferred.

Work Location:

  • In-person assignments vary by pupil and location.
