Full job description
PE, Sport & Teaching Assistant Apprenticeships (Levels 2–5)
Are you passionate about sport or education? Do you want to inspire the next generation while launching your own career?
At Inspire+, we don’t just offer a job; we offer a journey. We partner with local schools to provide hands-on apprenticeships where you learn from seasoned pros, share your own creative ideas, and gain nationally recognised qualifications.
Your Role: What will you be doing? You won’t just be standing on the sidelines. As an apprentice, you will:
- Lead & Support: Help run high-energy, inclusive PE lessons and classroom activities.
- Safety First: Supervise children to ensure they are safe, active, and having fun.
- Be a Mentor: Model positive behaviour and support students’ social and emotional growth.
- Go Beyond the Classroom: Get involved in after-school clubs and extra-curricular sports.
- Track Success: Work with teachers to support student progress and help every child reach their potential.
Choose Your Pathway We tailor the programme to you. Once you have a placement, we’ll help you pick the right level:
- Level 2 Community Activator Coach: Perfect for starting out in local sport.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant (PE Focus): The bridge between the classroom and the field.
- Level 4 School Sport Coach: For those with 6+ months of experience looking to lead.
- Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant: For current school staff looking to specialise.
Are you the right fit? We are looking for people who are:
- Great Communicator: You can build trust with kids, teachers, and parents.
- High Energy: You have an enthusiastic personality that gets kids excited to learn.
- Curious: You aren’t afraid to ask “why?” and are always looking to improve.
- Reliable: You can follow a plan, stay organised, and respect school rules.
- Professional: You understand the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality.
Entry Requirements
- Levels 2 & 3: GCSE Maths & English (Grade 2-4+) is preferred, but don’t let it stop you from applying—we look at the person, not just the paper.
- Level 4: Grade 4+ in Maths & English is essential, plus 6 months of experience working with children.
- Level 5: Grade 4+ in Maths & English is essential, and you must already be working in a school (12 months+).
Career Prospects: Where can this take you? An apprenticeship is just the beginning. Our graduates move into
- Full-time School Coaching or TA roles.
- University degrees in Education or Sports Science.
- Management roles within community sport.
Full-time, Apprenticeship – Start date: September 2026 – Salary: minimum £8 per hour
